Southern Housing has launched a £59 million tender for the servicing, maintenance, remedial works and installation of fire safety systems across its housing portfolio.
The contract is split into two regional lots, covering the North and South of England, and includes the maintenance of fire detection, alarm, suppression and prevention systems, alongside remedial works and new installations.
The North lot, covering areas including North London, the Midlands and Essex, is valued at £39 million, while the South lot, covering South London, Kent, East Sussex and West Sussex, is worth £20 million.
The contract is expected to commence in February 2027 and will run for an initial five years, with extension options that could take the total duration to 10 years, subject to performance reviews.
Suppliers have until 3 August 2026 to submit tenders, with the successful contractors expected to be appointed in October 2026.
The procurement represents another significant opportunity for specialist fire safety contractors as housing providers continue investing in building safety, compliance and the long-term maintenance of residential properties across the UK.
