Energetik has launched a £9.5m tender for the design and construction of two extensions to its Meridian Water Heat Network in north London.
The contract covers the delivery of the northern and western extensions, adding approximately 3.4km of district heating pipework to connect schools and public buildings across Enfield.
The successful contractor will be responsible for the detailed design, installation, testing and commissioning of the new network, with construction expected to begin in January 2027, subject to planning approval and highway licences.
The works include the installation of approximately 2.9km of DN200 pipework and 0.5km of DN150 pipework, extending the existing heat network from Edmonton Green to Winchmore School and from Ponders End to Capital City College and Waverley School.
The contract is expected to commence in September 2026 and complete by March 2028, with milestone delivery dates linked to grant funding requirements.
Suppliers have until 10 August 2026 to submit tenders, with Energetik expecting to award the contract in September 2026.
