WSP wins £200m Wiltshire highways consultancy contract

Wiltshire Council has appointed WSP UK to a highways consultancy and management contract worth up to £200m over a potential 10-year term.

The contract covers the design, management and delivery of highway schemes across Wiltshire, with WSP acting as Principal Designer under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015).

The consultancy will support the council in developing and delivering highway improvement projects while ensuring compliance with statutory and legal requirements. The scope also includes wider design and planning services as required.

The contract has an estimated value of £200m and is due to commence on 1 December 2026, running until 30 November 2032, with options to extend for a further four years, taking the total potential term to 2036.

Four bidders reached the final stage of the procurement, with AtkinsRéalis, Jacobs and M Group Highways unsuccessful in their bids.

The contract was awarded using a Competitive Flexible Procedure, with NEC Option A, C or E forms of contract available for future commissions.
