Winvic Construction has been appointed to deliver a major £130m build-to-rent development in Leeds after the scheme successfully cleared the Building Safety Regulator's Gateway 2 approval process.
The contractor has secured the contract from Lisbon Street Developments, a joint venture between Marrico Asset Management and Helios Real Estate, to construct 578 build-to-rent apartments on the former International Swimming Pool site close to Leeds city centre.
The development will comprise two residential towers rising 33 and 22 storeys above a shared podium and basement structure. Alongside the new homes, the scheme will include resident amenity facilities, commercial space, roof terraces and private balconies.
Construction is expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2026, marking the next phase of a wider regeneration programme already underway at the site.
Winvic is already familiar with the location, having completed a 548-bed student accommodation scheme on the wider development site six months ago. The build-to-rent project represents the third major phase of redevelopment, following the student accommodation scheme and an aparthotel currently under construction.

The development has been designed to achieve a Home Quality Mark 3.5-star rating and will incorporate a range of sustainability measures, including:
Photovoltaic (PV) panels
Decentralised air source heat pumps
Enhanced building fabric
Reduced operational energy demand

With construction expected to begin later this year, potential opportunities are anticipated across:
Groundworks and civils
