Vistry secures approval for 229 homes at Locking Parklands regeneration scheme

Vistry has secured planning permission to deliver 229 new homes and the first phase of the high street at the landmark Locking Parklands regeneration scheme in North Somerset.

The approved phase includes 12 commercial units alongside a mix of private and affordable homes, with 50% of the development allocated as affordable housing, helping to meet growing local demand.

The project forms part of Homes England’s wider masterplan to regenerate the former RAF Locking site, which is expected to deliver around 2,000 homes, commercial space, schools, healthcare facilities and community infrastructure over the coming years.

Vistry’s latest phase will help create the future village centre, connecting the already completed primary school, secondary school and GP surgery with new homes, employment opportunities and local amenities.

Susan Scholfield, Regional Managing Director at Vistry Bristol, said the development would provide a wide range of housing options while making a significant contribution to affordable housing provision across the area.

Homes England’s National Disposals Lead, Sam Gammon, added that the project represents another important milestone in delivering a vibrant new community at the heart of Locking Parklands.

As construction progresses, the wider regeneration programme is expected to create long-term opportunities across residential construction, infrastructure, commercial fit-out, landscaping and the local supply chain.
