Thanet District Council has launched a tender to appoint a contractor to deliver refurbishment and enabling works at the Spitfire Way vehicle workshop in Manston, Kent.
The £990,000 project will modernise a former airport fire engine maintenance facility, creating a new operational workshop for the Council’s fleet of 113 vehicles, including 41 HGVs supporting waste, recycling and street cleansing services.
The existing workshop already benefits from HGV maintenance pits, with the successful contractor responsible for completing modernisation works and securing Building Regulations approval ahead of occupation.
