NorDan UK has expanded its presence in the building envelope market with the acquisition of façades specialist RED Systems.
The deal, for an undisclosed sum, brings together NorDan’s manufacturing capability with RED Systems’ expertise in façades, glazing and curtain walling, strengthening delivery across both residential and commercial projects.
📊 Expanding capability across the UK
Operating across London and the North West, RED Systems has built a strong portfolio working with major contractors including Kier Group and Eric Wright Group, as well as developers such as Barratt London.
The business currently holds an order book of nearly £40m, highlighting ongoing demand for façade and envelope solutions.
The acquisition follows NorDan UK’s recent additions of Esk Glazing and PDS Doorsets, further building its integrated building envelope capability.
🧠 Strategic move amid rising demand
By combining:
window and door manufacturing
façade design and delivery
early-stage compliance and coordination
The move is expected to improve delivery on complex timber/aluminium composite schemes, particularly across large-scale residential developments.
The deal also comes as the industry faces:
increased regulatory requirements
greater scrutiny on building safety
growing demand for coordinated envelope solutions
🚀 What this means
This acquisition reflects a wider shift in the sector towards:
integrated supply chain models
early-stage specialist involvement
improved coordination across design and delivery
As building safety and compliance remain a key focus, capability across the full building envelope is becoming increasingly critical.
