Muse and Homes England Submit Plans for £640m Slough Town Centre Regeneration

Muse and Homes England have submitted a planning application for the North West Quadrant (NWQ), a major £640 million regeneration scheme in Slough town centre.

The proposed development will transform the former Thames Valley University site into a mixed-use neighbourhood delivering approximately 1,500 new homes, commercial space, community facilities and significant public realm improvements.

Subject to planning approval, the project will be delivered in phases, with the first phase already submitted in detail comprising 473 Build-to-Rent apartments, 325 Co-Living homes, commercial accommodation and supporting retail space.

Project Overview

The North West Quadrant regeneration project forms a key part of the wider transformation of Slough town centre and is being brought forward through a partnership between Muse and Homes England.

The 3.6-hectare development is proposed to deliver:

  • Approximately 1,500 new homes

  • Landmark office accommodation

  • 3,000 sq m of retail, café and commercial space

  • Nursery provision for up to 100 children

  • Community event space

  • Public realm and green infrastructure improvements

  • Enhanced pedestrian and cycle connectivity

  • 415 parking spaces

The scheme follows Homes England’s acquisition of the site from Slough Borough Council in 2023 and represents one of the most significant regeneration opportunities currently progressing within the Thames Valley region.
