GRAHAM awarded final contract on £323m Didcot infrastructure programme

GRAHAM has secured the final construction contract on Oxfordshire’s £323m Didcot and Surrounding Areas Major Infrastructure (HIF1) programme, delivering the new Didcot to Culham River Crossing.

Appointed by Oxfordshire County Council, GRAHAM will construct a 3.6km single carriageway linking the A4130 at Didcot with the A415 at Culham as part of one of the county’s largest transport infrastructure schemes.

The project includes the construction of two major bridges, one spanning the Appleford railway sidings and another crossing the River Thames, alongside dedicated walking and cycling routes running the full length of the new road.

The appointment completes the procurement of the HIF1 programme, with VolkerFitzpatrick and AECOM also delivering key elements of the wider £323m infrastructure investment.

Enabling works are already underway, with the main construction programme expected to take approximately two and a half years to complete.

The scheme will improve connectivity between Didcot and Culham while supporting future housing growth, reducing congestion and enhancing transport links across South Oxfordshire.
