George Leslie Ltd has been appointed to a £15.6 million civils and marine works framework supporting Scotland’s Small Vessels Replacement Programme (SVRP), securing a key role in the modernisation of ferry infrastructure across the west coast.
Awarded by Caledonian Maritime Assets Ltd (CMAL), the single-supplier framework will deliver civil engineering, marine and enabling works across seven ferry terminals including Colintraive, Portavadie, Largs, Tarbert, Lochaline, Kilchoan and Tobermory.
The programme forms part of the wider SVRP, which is replacing and upgrading vessels and port infrastructure to improve the resilience and reliability of Scotland’s ferry network.

The framework includes pre-construction support, site inspections, surveys, engineering design and investigations, alongside the delivery of marine and civil engineering works under NEC4 contracts.
Construction packages are expected to include marine infrastructure upgrades, harbour improvements, quay works, site preparation, environmental works and associated civil engineering, creating opportunities across the supply chain throughout the programme.
Three contractors submitted bids for the framework, with George Leslie securing the appointment following a competitive procurement process.
The award further strengthens George Leslie’s presence in the marine and infrastructure sectors while supporting long-term investment in Scotland’s transport network and island connectivity.
