Forshaw Group has submitted updated plans for a major residential development on the Salford waterfront, proposing an 814-home scheme along the River Irwell.
The proposed Riverside Place development is set to transform a prominent site on Ordsall Lane and Regent Road, currently occupied by a mix of commercial uses.

The scheme will deliver a high-density residential quarter comprising three towers ranging from 21 to 35 storeys.
In total, the development is expected to provide over 749,000 sq ft of space, creating a significant addition to Salford’s growing residential market.
The project is being brought forward with backing from Crescent Investments.

Designed by DLA Architecture, the proposals include a strong focus on community and placemaking.
Key features include:

Enhanced pedestrian and cycle connections
The plans also aim to improve access to the River Irwell, with new landscaped routes, seating areas, and improved connectivity towards Salford Quays and Manchester city centre.
🚧 Site and programme
The 2.2-acre site has already secured demolition consent, clearing the way for redevelopment subject to planning approval.
If approved, the project is expected to move into procurement, with a contractor likely to be appointed ahead of a potential start on site within the next 12–18 months.
📊 Economic impact
The development is forecast to deliver significant economic benefits, including:
Over 1,000 construction jobs
Approximately ÂŁ67 million in economic value during the build phase
