Balfour Beatty Rail appointed for £7.75m Milford Haven transport interchange scheme


Balfour Beatty Rail has secured a £7.75m contract to deliver the Milford Haven Public Transport Interchange scheme in South West Wales.


The project, procured by Pembrokeshire County Council, will transform the existing Milford Haven railway station into a new integrated public transport hub combining rail, bus, taxi, parking and active travel infrastructure.


Construction is scheduled to run from May 2026 through to July 2027.


Project scope includes:

  • relocation of the existing rail platform

  • creation of a new bus interchange

  • new taxi rank infrastructure

  • formalised car parking areas

  • public realm improvements

  • upgraded pedestrian and active travel connections

  • wider station and transport infrastructure enhancements
