Architect appointed for conservation-led shopfront upgrade in Bolsover town centre

Bolsover District Council has awarded a contract for specialist architectural services to support a conservation-led shopfront improvement programme across Bolsover town centre.
The contract, valued at £60,000 including VAT, has been awarded to Castle Owen Construction and Property Consultants Limited following a below-threshold procurement process with limited competition.
🏛️ Heritage-focused regeneration programme
The appointed architect will act as lead designer and Principal Designer under CDM 2015, delivering services across RIBA Plan of Work 2020 Stages 1–7.
The scheme will focus on:
Conservation-led shopfront design
Enhancement of multiple properties within the Bolsover town centre conservation area
Supporting wider regeneration objectives across the district
Subject to funding, the programme may expand to include additional properties across the wider Bolsover District.

Start date: 20 April 2026
End date: 31 August 2027
Possible extension: Up to February 2028 (6 months)
The appointment covers architectural and related services under standard procurement classifications for heritage and building design works.
