Arada has unveiled plans for the £2.5bn Thameside West regeneration scheme in London’s Royal Docks, appointing Arup, Gensler and Planit to progress the first phase of the development.
The 47-acre waterfront site has planning permission for at least 5,000 homes, including 35% affordable housing, alongside green space covering around half of the development and a kilometre of public waterfront.
The first phase will deliver 1,500 homes across six residential buildings, together with a major new public park and supporting infrastructure. Arada said the proposals have been refreshed to meet the latest building safety standards and regulatory requirements.

The developer has appointed Gensler as architect, Arup as engineering consultant and Planit as landscape architect to take the first stage of the project forward.
Thameside West is being delivered in partnership with the Greater London Authority (GLA) and its land and property company GLAP, forming part of the wider regeneration of the Royal Docks.
Arada expects to submit a planning application for the first phase later this summer, with construction targeted to begin in early 2028, subject to planning approval.
The developer is also working with Transport for London (TfL) on proposals for a new Docklands Light Railway (DLR) station, which is intended to open in time for the first residents moving into the development.
