AECOM secures nine places on £4.7bn UK Government construction framework

AECOM has strengthened its position in the UK public sector after securing appointments across nine lots on the Government Commercial Agency’s (GCA) Construction Professional Services 2 (CPS2) Framework.

The global consultancy has expanded its presence on the framework from five lots in 2021 to nine under the new agreement, which has a total value of approximately £4.7bn and will run for the next four years.

The CPS2 Framework is one of the UK’s largest public sector consultancy frameworks, providing government departments and public bodies with access to technical advisory, engineering, design and project management services across major infrastructure programmes.

Under the latest appointments, AECOM has secured places covering general infrastructure, project management, defence, enhanced defence, international projects, nuclear energy and three specialist flood risk and asset management categories.

The framework is used by organisations across the public sector, including central government departments, local authorities, the NHS, education providers and the Environment Agency, supporting projects across transport, energy, housing, defence and environmental infrastructure.

Richard Whitehead, Chief Executive of AECOM’s Europe & India region, said the appointment strengthens the company’s long-standing relationship with the UK public sector and will enable it to continue supporting major infrastructure investment across the country.

The CPS2 Framework represents the primary procurement route for construction consultancy services across a wide range of public sector projects, with work expected to include everything from individual commissions through to large-scale, multi-year capital programmes.

AECOM’s expanded appointment further reinforces its position as one of the UK’s leading engineering and infrastructure consultancies, particularly across strategic sectors including energy, defence and environmental resilience.
