Panattoni acquires Atom Valley site for major Greater Manchester industrial scheme

Panattoni has acquired a 16-acre site at HPARK within Atom Valley, Greater Manchester, to deliver the area’s first large-scale speculative industrial and logistics development.

The scheme forms part of the wider Northern Gateway masterplan, a major employment and innovation zone spanning Rochdale and Bury that has been identified for advanced manufacturing, logistics and industrial growth.

HPARK is being brought forward by Russell LDP and is expected to deliver around 2.1 million sq ft of industrial and logistics space across the wider site.

The development sits within Atom Valley, a mayoral development zone designed to accelerate regeneration, employment growth and infrastructure delivery across Greater Manchester.

Panattoni is expected to progress development quickly, with revised planning proposals anticipated in the coming months to increase the approved building area and support infrastructure delivery.

The announcement follows confirmation of £52.1m in public investment towards highway and access improvements within Northern Gateway, including a new Western Access route linked to the M62 and M66 corridors.

The wider Atom Valley programme has the potential to support 20,000 jobs, 7,000 homes and approximately 17 million sq ft of employment space across the region.
