Paddington Square recognised with major RIBA awards

Paddington Square has received both a RIBA London Award and RIBA National Award, while also being shortlisted for the Stirling Prize following the completion of the landmark mixed-use development next to Paddington Station.

Delivered by Mace, the scheme has transformed the south-eastern side of Paddington Station with new commercial space, retail and leisure uses and a major new public piazza.

Designed by Renzo Piano Building Workshop, with interiors by Universal Design Studio, the project has repositioned a previously constrained site into a new commercial and public destination.

The development includes a rooftop restaurant and terrace at Level 17, accessed by panoramic lifts and offering views across Hyde Park, the City of London and Westminster.

Specialist supplier Farrat also contributed to the scheme, providing its STRUKTRA TBF thermal break solution to thermally separate key building elements from the primary steel frame.

The completed development has now been recognised by RIBA at both London and national level and is among the schemes shortlisted for the Stirling Prize.
