McLaughlin & Harvey has secured a £70m main contract to redevelop Thavies Inn House at Holborn Circus in central London for Evans Randall Investors.
The project will replace the existing 1950s building with a substantially larger commercial development, with main construction scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026 following demolition works by Erith Contractors.
Designed by WilkinsonEyre, the scheme will provide around 90,000 sq ft of prime office space alongside 2,000 sq ft of ground-floor retail accommodation.

The redevelopment will also include external terraces on every level, a new south-facing public park and upgraded end-of-trip facilities.
The project is targeting BREEAM Outstanding and a five-star NABERS rating, reflecting a strong focus on operational energy performance and sustainability.
The appointment adds another major central London commercial project to McLaughlin & Harvey’s pipeline.
