GRAHAM lands £50m Cranbourne Secondary School rebuild

GRAHAM Building has secured a £50m contract to rebuild Cranbourne Secondary School in Basingstoke, replacing ageing buildings including blocks affected by RAAC.

The project will deliver a new 10,000 sq m secondary school on the existing Wessex Close site, with early works already underway and main foundation works due to begin this autumn.

The redevelopment will replace seven existing buildings and create a new two and three-storey facility bringing teaching, specialist learning and sports accommodation together across the 6.8-hectare campus.

Facilities will include dedicated SEND spaces, an administration suite, swimming pool, sports hall and activity studio.

External works will provide new sports pitches, while sustainability measures will include green roofs and solar PV canopies.

Mason Navarro Pledge is supporting the project as structural engineer, with Cundall providing MEP engineering services.

The scheme represents GRAHAM’s third appointment through the DfE Construction Framework 2021, following previous education projects in Leicestershire and Bristol.
