MAG launches plant and tool hire tender across three UK airports

Manchester Airports Group has launched a tender for plant and tool hire services across Manchester, London Stansted and East Midlands airports.

The contract will cover the hire of plant, powered access equipment, lifting equipment, accommodation units, generators, pumps, survey equipment, temporary site equipment, tools and associated accessories.

The appointed supplier will support operational, maintenance and construction activities across all three airports, as well as approved third-party contractors working on MAG sites.

The scope includes supply, delivery, collection and ongoing support of hire assets, alongside management information and spend reporting throughout the contract term.

MAG is seeking to appoint a single supplier under a group-wide arrangement.

The contract has an estimated value of £1m excluding VAT and is expected to begin on 4 March 2027.

It will initially run for three years, with two optional one-year extensions taking the potential term to March 2032.

Bids will be assessed on 70% commercial, 15% technical and 15% ESG.

The procurement is being run through a Competitive Flexible Procedure, beginning with a PQQ stage before tender, optional BAFO and contract award.

The PQQ deadline is 12 October 2026, while final tender submissions are due by 30 November 2026.
