Deeley Construction and Housing 21 are progressing plans for a new 70-apartment extra care development in Atherstone, Warwickshire.
The scheme will transform the long-vacant Britannia Mill site, which has remained derelict for more than 20 years following a series of stalled redevelopment proposals.
Demolition works are now underway, supported by North Warwickshire Borough Council, Homes England and Deeley Group, with construction expected to begin later this year following completion of site clearance works.
The development will provide specialist extra care accommodation for residents aged 55 and over, combining independent living with on-site care and support services.
Planned facilities within the scheme will include:
Accessible apartments
Communal resident spaces
Visitor facilities
Dedicated on-site management
The project represents another regeneration-led residential development bringing a long-standing brownfield site back into active use while supporting growing demand for later living accommodation across the region.
