Cubby Construction has been appointed as main contractor to deliver the £15.6m regeneration of Annan Harbour in southern Scotland.
The project will transform the historic harbour into a modern waterfront destination, featuring a new maritime heritage centre, event space, leisure lagoon and café.
Construction is set to begin in April, with the scheme expected to take approximately two years to complete.
Funding for the redevelopment has been secured through a combination of public investment, including support from the Scottish Government, the UK Government’s Levelling Up Fund, Dumfries and Galloway Council and South of Scotland Enterprise.
Once a hub for shipbuilding, fishing and trade, Annan Harbour experienced significant decline during the latter half of the 20th century. The redevelopment aims to revitalise the area, creating new opportunities for tourism, leisure and the local economy.
The project marks a significant milestone following several years of planning, consultation and funding approvals, with work now set to get underway on site.
