A major milestone has been reached in the delivery of a £2.5bn advanced manufacturing hub at Coventry Airport, after detailed plans for the first phase received full approval.

Warwick District Council has approved proposals for seven large-scale manufacturing buildings at the GreenPower Park site, unlocking around 4.8 million sq ft of industrial space.

The scheme is set to become one of the UK’s most significant centres for battery technology and advanced manufacturing, with individual units ranging from 69,000 sq ft up to 1.5 million sq ft.

The approval builds on outline consent granted in 2022 and now provides clarity on building layouts, scale and site design — moving the project closer to delivery.

GreenPower Park is being developed through a joint venture between Coventry City Council and Rigby Group, with ambitions to establish a nationally important hub for clean energy innovation and industrial growth.

The site also sits within the Coventry & Warwick Investment Zone, offering incentives such as business rates relief and tax benefits to attract occupiers and accelerate inward investment.

Located рядом with the UK Battery Industrialisation Centre, the development is well positioned to support research, testing and scale-up of next-generation battery technologies.

With detailed consent now secured, attention will turn to infrastructure delivery, site preparation and securing tenants for what will be one of the Midlands’ largest advanced manufacturing clusters.
