Contract Award: Decarbonisation Consultancy Appointed by Thanet District Council

Thanet District Council has appointed Barker Associates to deliver multi-disciplinary consultancy services under the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme – Phase 4.

The appointment covers a full consultant design team to support the Council’s decarbonisation programme across multiple sites. The commission will deliver professional services across project management, multi-disciplinary design, MEP consultancy, cost consultancy, and clerk of works functions.

The consultant will also undertake the roles of:

• Employer’s Agent

• Contract Administrator

• Principal Designer (covering CDM and Building Regulations)

The contract covers RIBA Stages 2–4, with a break clause following completion of Stage 4 to confirm the viability of future delivery. Subject to a notice to proceed, the consultant may then continue through RIBA Stages 5–6.
