Royal BAM Group has reported a solid start to 2026, with increased revenue and adjusted earnings during the first quarter alongside continued strength across its UK operations.
The Dutch construction group said its order book remained stable at €13bn, supported by continued demand across infrastructure, energy transition, defence and sustainable housing markets.
BAM also reported improved solvency and a strong cash position, while highlighting stronger profitability within its UK construction business following a disciplined approach to tendering and project delivery.
Chief Executive Ruud Joosten said both of the Group’s main divisions, alongside its Belgium operations, contributed to the improved performance during the opening quarter of the year.
Within the UK, BAM’s civil engineering division continued to perform strongly, while the wider construction business secured several notable project wins.
These included:
Wales High School in Sheffield — a net-zero operational school project
Eastwood Park Leisure Centre, theatre and library development for East Renfrewshire Council in Scotland
The business has also secured a place on the Department for Education’s multi-year CF25 schools framework, strengthening its long-term education sector pipeline.
In addition, BAM Civil Engineering UK was appointed onto the refreshed Procurement Partnerships North West Framework, further supporting future infrastructure opportunities across the region.
The Group said it continues to see strong market opportunities driven by government-backed investment programmes across the UK, Ireland and the Netherlands, particularly in sectors linked to infrastructure, defence, decarbonisation and affordable housing delivery.
The update suggests BAM is entering 2026 with a stable pipeline, improving UK profitability and continued focus on lower-risk, long-term growth sectors.
