44 Contractors Appointed to £3bn London Construction Programme Framework

The London Construction Programme has appointed 44 contractors to its new £3 billion General Works Framework, covering a wide range of public sector construction projects across London and the Home Counties.

Procured by the London Borough of Haringey, the five-year framework will replace the previous MW19 programme and support delivery across multiple sectors.

Major Contractors Secured

Tier one firms including Galliford Try, McLaren Construction and GRAHAM are among those appointed, alongside a strong mix of regional and specialist contractors.

In total, 66 tenders were submitted, highlighting the high level of competition for places on the framework.

Wide-Ranging Scope of Works

The framework is split across 16 lots, covering projects of varying sizes and types, including:

  • New build construction (including modern methods of construction)

  • Fire safety works

  • Refurbishment and retrofit

  • Planned preventative maintenance

Projects will range from schemes valued at under £7.5 million to major works exceeding £14 million, alongside flexible, place-based delivery models.

Supporting Public Sector Delivery

The framework will be used across a diverse portfolio of assets, including:

  • Housing

  • Commercial buildings

  • Heritage sites

  • Community facilities

  • Critical infrastructure such as hospitals

One notable gap remains, with no contractor appointed to the lot covering planned preventative maintenance projects over £14 million.

Driving the Next Phase of Delivery

With a total value of £3 billion (excluding VAT), the framework represents a significant pipeline of work for contractors and consultants operating in the public sector.

It follows a separate £3 billion education framework launched last year, further reinforcing the scale of opportunity within the London Construction Programme. Find out more here
