Vistry North West Midlands has secured Reserved Matters approval for 547 dwellings as part of Phase 1 of the wider Rugeley Power Station redevelopment — a major brownfield regeneration scheme spanning Cannock Chase and Lichfield District.
The wider masterplan will deliver over 2,000 new homes, alongside:
new public open space
sports and play facilities
a local centre
employment uses
This latest approval represents a significant milestone in bringing forward one of the region’s most complex and strategically important regeneration sites.
Phase 1 forms a key part of the transformation of the former power station into a new sustainable neighbourhood, supporting long-term housing delivery and placemaking across the area.
The project has required close collaboration across multiple stakeholders, including:
Cannock Chase District Council, Lichfield District Council and Staffordshire County Council, alongside extensive consultant and in-house coordination.
Special recognition goes to the wider delivery team for their work in progressing a technically complex, cross-boundary scheme through detailed design and approval stages.
