Owl Homes Ltd has acquired a new development site at Shipley Lakeside, bringing forward plans for a residential scheme of approximately 105 homes.
A planning application has now been submitted, with the proposed development forming part of the wider Shipley Lakeside masterplan — a well-established and highly regarded residential area in Derbyshire.
The acquisition represents a strategically important addition to Owl Homes’ pipeline, reinforcing its growth across the Midlands and supporting its ongoing expansion into key regional locations.
Shipley Lakeside is recognised for its strong residential appeal, with the site benefiting from close proximity to Shipley Country Park and Shipley Lake, offering a natural setting alongside established infrastructure and local amenities.
Commenting on the acquisition, Conor Garvey, Head of Land & Partnerships at Owl Homes, said the site reflects the type of opportunity the business is targeting — well-located land in established areas with clear long-term demand for high-quality housing.
He added that the focus will be on delivering a scheme that not only works commercially, but also aligns with the character of the area and the surrounding community.
Further updates are expected as the planning process progresses, with the scheme set to contribute to housing delivery in the region as part of the wider masterplan.
