Henry Brothers has been appointed to deliver a £10.3 million Joint Asset Workshop and Stores facility at Darby House in Wellingborough.
The project, commissioned by the Northamptonshire Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner, will bring together fleet management operations for Northamptonshire Police and Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service into a single, modern facility.
Construction is already underway, with completion scheduled for June 2027.
The scheme will deliver a two-storey building featuring:
Vehicle maintenance bays with multiple industrial access doors
Welfare facilities including toilets and showers
Office and storage space at first floor level
The development is designed to improve operational efficiency by consolidating services, while also providing modern, purpose-built facilities to support frontline emergency services.
Sustainability is a key focus of the project, with the building designed to reduce energy consumption, lower carbon emissions and minimise long-term operational costs.
The wider project team includes Gleeds as project and cost manager, Corporate Architecture as architect and principal designer, Millward for civil and structural engineering, and Anderson Green.
The scheme has been procured via the Crown Commercial Service Framework and will be delivered under a traditional construction contract with contractor design portions.
