Breck Homes to begin construction of 48 affordable homes in Cadishead

Breck Homes is preparing to begin site preparation works at its Green Lane development in Cadishead following planning approval from Salford City Council.

The brownfield scheme will deliver 48 affordable homes on the former Lion pub site, which is being transformed into a new residential community in partnership with ForHousing.

The development will include a mix of houses and apartments alongside new public open space designed to support community living and improve the surrounding environment.

Site preparation works are now underway, with full construction expected to follow enabling works on site.

Philip Dolan, Managing Director – North West at Breck Homes, said the scheme will bring a long-vacant brownfield site back into productive use in an area of strong demand for affordable housing.

He added that collaboration with local authorities and delivery partners helped bring the project forward to this stage.

First homes are expected to be handed over in early 2027.
