£3.2m wastewater treatment scheme completed in Monea

A new £3.2 million wastewater treatment facility has been completed in Monea, County Fermanagh, delivering upgraded infrastructure designed to support future growth and improve environmental performance in the area.

Delivered for NI Water, the two-year project provides a modern wastewater solution for the village and surrounding community.

The scheme uses a nature-based treatment system incorporating aerated reed beds to process wastewater effluent to a high environmental standard while reducing long-term impact on the surrounding ecosystem.

According to NI Water, the upgraded facility will:

  • Support future residential and commercial development

  • Improve wastewater capacity in the area

  • Enhance local river water quality

  • Deliver long-term environmental benefits

GRAHAM acted as main contractor on the project, with RPS Tetra Tech providing project management and technical support services.

The completed works form part of wider investment into sustainable wastewater infrastructure and environmental improvement projects across Northern Ireland.
