GRAHAM has been appointed to deliver a £60m build-to-rent development at Stretford Mall, beating competition from Domis, GMI and HG Construction.
The 10-storey residential scheme forms a key phase of the wider joint venture between Trafford Council and Bruntwood to regenerate the town centre.
Designed by AHR Architects, the project will deliver 248 homes, including 120 one-bedroom and 114 two-bedroom apartments, alongside 14 three-bedroom townhouses. Around 2,000 sq ft of ground-floor retail space is also included.
The three-year contract marks a significant step forward in the redevelopment of Stretford Mall, which is set to deliver around 800 homes in total. The wider scheme will involve partial demolition of the existing shopping centre to unlock development plots.
In March, the residential phase secured £24m in funding from the Greater Manchester Combined Authority, supporting the delivery of new homes and wider regeneration ambitions.

Further phases of the scheme, valued at £45m and £70m, are still to be procured — presenting upcoming opportunities across the supply chain.
The project reinforces continued investment in town centre regeneration across Greater Manchester, with long-term delivery pipelines still to come forward.
